Princess, Warrior, Meddler in Friends' Love Lives
What are you doing with my mother’s underwear? And why are you blushing?

- Zeetha

I swear I have no clue how this happened.

I didn’t even think your mother wore underwear!

Well, it’s not underwear like Europeans wear underwear….see? It’s more like an intricately embroidered loincloth.   You don’t wear anything over it. It’s meant to be shown off.

And how did you wind up with it?

Well, I—

Some gray-face ran up to me and threw it at me!

I don’t think it’s the one entangled in the chandelier… and…

um…

it’s still warm.

You could always go return it to her yourself….

[barely suppressing a leer in her voice]

What are you doing with my mother’s underwear? And why are you blushing?

Oof.

The ladder appears to be stable now. Should I try going up first…?

[Because Wooster is totally not worrying about Zeetha cutting up the chandelier. Not worrying at all]

No worries, I’ll get it! Just hold the ladder steady….

[She draws a sword, trying to get the fabric free with minimal damage to the fixture….but the embroidery is firmly caught on the fastenings of the crystals and one of the tassels is thoroughly entwined….there’s only so much finesse can accomplish with this Gordian Knot….right…Plan B time! *KA-SLICE!*]

I’ll disentangle the thing myself.  I’m sure they can fix it when I’m done with it.

[Fortunately, the falling arm of the chandelier misses Wooster, broke its fall on a chair, leaving the wrap undamaged, but still tangled.]

That’s certainly one way of getting it down.

[He’s sure the Baron will forgive them for that— after all, they did just save his wife’s best chestwrap from a life of entanglement]

I even made the cut clean so all they have to do is blowtorch it back in place.  Easy!

[And now she’s trying to untangle the thing]

Hmmn….I might need some pliers for this.

[takes a closer look at it]

How on earth did it get so tangled? It would have had to actually been wrapped around the chandelier to get this… or…

[what’s this?]

How odd. I believe this tassel is actually inside the crystal… see?

They’re actually joined together.

What could do this?

There is a theory that some strong Sparks warp the physics of the area around them…or it could just be that my mother is very creative.

Ah, well I do not believe anything has been reported, but I will check the meeting room just in case.

Ah.

I see.

Zeetha, if you are not busy, I may need some help getting it down from the chandelier.

I think the tassels got caught on the crystals……this may require creative use of swords.  And a ladder.

Ah, THAT one.  Funny, I heard she’d been singing the one they taught us in training, about the proper care and usage of staffs…..complete with gestures…and that she was trying to get my father to help her act them out.

Speaking of which, do you know if they ever found her breastband?  She liked that one - it had nice embroidery on it.

In regards to the rumors about my mother, all 4 of them are true. Though more accurately, she didn’t outdrink a Jager, she outdrank the Jagergenerals. All 7 of them. And then dragged my father off while singing a very risque song in Skiff. Hope that clarifies some things.

askwooster:

- Zeetha

Well, that certainly clears things up?

Your mother sounds like quite an impressive woman.

Also, I do believe that anecdote does explain the new ditty going around the servant’s quarters.

Something to do with chocolate, bananas and a hairless cat I believe.

You should see her on Holy Days….

[Zan is just so happy about her baby growing up and taking on a zumil and teaching her so well, okay? She’s really loving this blonde haired girl, too. She… oh! Blonde!]

Bill adapted well to our customs after awhile… Barry never quite did. That was fine, we gave him space. But their lovely friend Lucrezia, she adapted quite well! Such a lovely lady. You have hair like her’s too, beautiful and golden! Is it common in europa? Oh! Did she and Bill finally become proper consorts? Is she your mother? I haven’t seen her in years and years!

[She really doesn’t get why that’s a problem. Oh, Zan, sweetie no. Lu is not the same person she was back then.]

[…oh.

Zan, you might notice that she’s gone tense and is stepping away and oh, that’s not a very nice tone of voice now, is it?]

Yes. She was my mother.

[NO ZANTABRAXUS STOP THIS IS NOT GOING TO END WELL]

[*makes a frantic “For Ashtara’s sake shut up” motion]

It’s kind of a long, complicated, and painful story, Mother.  Perhaps suited for another time.

[Like once Agatha’s out of earshot.  Right, time to smooth things over.]

So, speaking of family, Mother, how is everyone doing?  How are the rest of my brothers and sisters and cousins?  Noopta must be what, fifteen?  Has she gone on her first solo hunt yet?  And has Miranda married her girlfriend yet?

[Yes, Gil, you have more sibs than just Zeetha. And lots of cousins. And hey, changing the subject!]

How about dealing with the electrified squid clanks?  They look good, and would provide grounding.
